Hey there friends. I thought I would give you a fun little picture recap of our little guy's first birthday. We didn't do anything too crazy, just invited a few friends and family to eat cake with us. Both mine and my husband's family's live out of state so they weren't able to party with us... but luckily my grandparents live about a half an hour away so they came and brought one of my cousins. Fun times for all were had.
and this cake was homemade (with the help of some cake mix boxes) by yours truly! |
C-baby's cake was two layers... one chocolate and one vanilla because his daddy hates chocolate and his momma loves it... we're just letting him choose for himself :)
We decided to do things really simple for his first b-day. I feel like there is a lot of pressure out there to throw your kid this amazing, spectacular, wildly expensive party when, hey, they're not even going to remember the dang thing. Birthdays are fun and should be celebrated but I don't feel like there's any reason to go totally overboard. But maybe party planning is your thing and you are dying to give your child the first birthday party of the century. More power to you. Just, you know, quit making the rest of us look so bad.
Such a cute baby and I love the cake :)
