As you may have been able to tell from my last post, the fact that this is an outfit post is a big deal. It turns out that all I needed was a good maternity dress to lift my spirits!
dress- zulily (find it here) // vest- jc penney (similar) // necklace- j. crew factory // shoes- target
Basically, this dress was the first thing that's made me feel pretty and put together in a while. It's also a great bump-accentuator! It makes me look pregnant rather than making me look like I've eaten too many donuts. Pregnant or not, a good body con dress like this is so perfect for making you feel like you look good!
And can I just mention that this dress was a steal? It's normally $98 which I would not probably ever have spent on a maternity dress that will only be worn for a short while. But I found it on Zulily for less than half the price and I'm soooo glad I got it (it was the last one available so basically it was fate)!
And for those who are interested in things like pregnancy updates... here you go.
How far along: 18 weeks
Total weight gain: I think I'm at 9 lbs from pre-pregnancy? I'm honestly trying to not obsess about my weight because watching the numbers on the scale climb is sort of hard for me (even though I know it's supposed to be happening).
Maternity clothes: this dress + a pair of skinnies (that I loooove) and a couple maternity tops scored from Gap on sale. I probs need to invest in another pair of maternity jeans though because I really can't fit into normal jeans.
Stretch marks: nothing new, just some from my last pregnancy. I'm using cocoa butter at night & bio oil in the mornings, so hopefully all this moisturizing will help prevent more!
Miss anything: Not too much... I'm just starting to get back to normal life after that horrible nausea & vomiting that comes along with pregnancy so we'll see if things are starting to be missed.
Movement: I've definitely felt the baby move by this point, but it's pretty subtle right now, and I don't even feel it everyday.
Food craving: peach rings (of course I'm craving candy), steak (we've had it twice this week), green veggies like brussels sprouts, yogurt.
Anything make you queasy or sick: Not too much anymore! I'm still sensitive to strong smells though.
Have you started to show yet: It's obvious enough that people at church will tell me congrats on the pregnancy!
Gender: still a few more weeks until we find out! I'm still thinking girl, but I'm trying not to feel too definitive about that.
Labor signs: nothing yet, just some round ligament pain... so fun
Belly button in or out: still in!
Wedding rings on or off: on for now
Happy or moody most of the time: I'd say mostly happy but I get reeeeeally emotional about things. Ask my husband :)
Looking forward to: finding out the gender and coming up with some names!
Your baby bump is super cute.

Congrats on your second pregnancy Janelle. You are looking gorgeous and I always love an olive military vest or jacket over a classic B+W Dress. Do you know if it's a boy or a girl yet?
